For autumn/winter 2010, LONDON show ROOMS took London’s leading emerging fashion talents to New
York, in partnership with Centre for Fashion Enterprise, to increase
their presence and develop their media coverage and businesses in the
USA.
The
showroom is a partially subsidised space for designers to show their
collections with the support of top US editors and US department store
Fashion Directors and New York boutique owners.
Sarah Mower, the British Fashion Council's Ambassador for Emerging Talent, and chair of the NEWGEN selection
committee, hosted an opening breakfast at the showroom from 9am –
11am to welcome media and buyers. Vogue US and Emma Watson hosted a
closing cocktail party at Pulino’s in support of the initiative and to
welcome London’s emerging talent to New York.
LONDON show ROOMS is supported by UK Trade and Investment (that in London is partially funded by the European Regional Development Fund) and the London Development Agency.
