Following on from the success of the inaugural London Collections: Men in June 2012 the British Fashion Council confirms dates for London’s second menswear showcase as Monday 7th – Wednesday 9th January 2013.

The BFC also announces the appointment of Dylan Jones as on-going Chair of London Collections: Men. Dylan was initially engaged as chair of the 2012 menswear committee to support the launch of a dedicated menswear showcase in London. The new role will see Dylan working alongside the British Fashion Council to lead the charge on developing London Collections: Men as a bi-annual event. All events on the schedule are designed to showcase the breadth of British fashion talent, from the world’s most innovative emerging talents to global menswear brands and Savile Row tailors. The appointment is initially for a fixed term of two years with immediate effect and will encompass four seasons.

Each season Dylan will re-focus the menswear committee, comprising style icons, media and leaders from fashion and the creative industries. Those joining the committee to bring together the next London Collections: Men are Adrian Clarke, ShortList; Anda Rowland, Anderson & Sheppard; Douglas Booth; Grant Pearce, GQ Asia Pacific; Paula Reed, Harvey Nichols; Robert Johnston, GQ; Tracey Emin and Tom Hiddleston.

The existing committee comprises Alex Bilmes, Christopher Bailey, Dan Stevens, David Furnish, David Gandy, David Walker-Smith, David Walliams, Elizabeth Saltzman, Evgeny Lebedev, Gordon Richardson, Harold Tillman CBE, Imran Amed, Jeremy Langmead, Jo Levin, Lulu Kennedy, Marigay McKee, Richard Buckley, Richard James, Simon Fuller, Stephen Ayres, Tim Blanks, Tinie Tempah, Tom Ford, The Mayor’s Office.

"I am thrilled to be working with the British Fashion Council on London Collections: Men. The inaugural men's week was far more successful than any of us anticipated, and we have been overwhelmed by the support and enthusiasm for the project from designers, retailers, buyers and the press. LC: M has already contributed to the changing perception of menswear in this country, and our plans for the next week in January, and beyond, will hopefully build on this." - Dylan Jones, Editor GQ
Caroline Rush, CEO of the British Fashion Council, said "Dylan has played a fantastic role as chair of the 2012 menswear committee and his input has been critical to the roaring success of the inaugural LC:M in June. Since June he has continued to work behind the scenes to move the event onto a permanent and prominent footing.  He plays a unique role in harnessing the support of international industry leaders and style icons to drive forward this incredible new showcase of British menswear.  We look forward to working with him over the next two years."

Dylan Jones is the Editor of British GQ.
