I am a recent Fashion textile & design graduate, specialising in weave. I’ve found a passion for creating my own art, experimenting with textures and colours, and translating that into my woven fabrics. I love creating my own fabrics as you can really tell a story with the patterns, structures, and techniques within weave. I'm more of a textile-based designer and mainly work with more sustainable yarns like cottons and lambs' wool. For my final collection I used donated yarns from Burberry which were 100% cotton and lambs' wool. My final collection focused on ‘Joes energy’. Joe is a huge inspiration in my life, and I wanted to bring his vibe into this final collection. Joe’s energy is simply to do with how he doesn’t care and is so himself in every situation. His passion for quirky interiors or different fashion choices. He has a laugh and is always pushing the boundaries. I mixed a lot of art and joes interior design decisions into the process which enabled me to understand “Joe’s Energy” a lot deeper. My final collection to me is funky, fun, and fresh. I want people to feel cool when wearing the outfit and to not care about anything. Almost like an armour what makes you feel confident. My hole outfit is hand woven using the Jacquard machine which makes it even more special. For my weave I focus more on my own art. Mixing the two together it's so thrilling as I created my own personal patterns. Not only that I’ve translated my fabric to be the art when worn on the body. As a designer I’m mainly inspired by memories, stories, or experiences in life. I like to translate this into a collection or designs as it motivates me to delve deeper and deeper into self-expression. I found a passion for menswear in my second year at university. Undertaking a fun menswear project based on our favourite film. This opened my eyes to a whole new platform, and I felt more freedom to explore and discover within menswear.
