Rooted in the domestic relics of my grandmother’s 1950s home, this collection revisits the interiors that once confined and defined a woman’s place. Each look is dedicated to a room in the house – the drawing room, the boot room, the bedroom, the bathroom, the kitchen, the attic. I dissected the codes of post-war domesticity to reimagine silhouettes and fabric that subvert each room rather than serve. Drawing on the mood and purpose of each room, I explore both armour and archive – using an old bedsheet I found in her attic. The collection explores the politics of space and gendered choreography of “home” then and now - nostalgic pleats combined with contemporary fabrication to disrupt the soft, floral furnishings. An intimate reclamation of space, memory and self.
