Room to Grow is a collection shaped by an identity I aspire to build—one that champions size inclusivity, adaptability, and individuality. Rooted in my experience of constantly moving during childhood, the collection reflects a need to adapt while maintaining a sense of self through fabrication, silhouette, and print. I design for people—regardless of gender. As a lifelong collector, I’ve always gathered objects that hold nostalgic value—items that others might overlook yet carry personal meaning. From scraps of wallpaper from houses I once lived in, to old cigarette and cereal packets that reminded me of home, these fragments became a comforting archive of movement and memory. This instinct to find beauty in the mundane, to make something special regardless of its origin, is at the heart of my work. Silhouette formed the foundation of my design process. Through pattern manipulation techniques, I developed unisex shapes intended to flatter a range of body types. A key innovation is my signature seamless armhole, which allows for greater flexibility in fit. The oversized silhouettes in the collection nod to my mom, who always bought clothes several sizes too big—pieces I still wear today, built to last a lifetime. I paired these new silhouettes with traditional fabrics and prints inspired by the interiors and textures of the many homes I’ve lived in—familiar patterns that evoke a sense of shared memory. Hand-drawn elements reinforce the adolescent nature of this nostalgia, capturing texture through a personal lens. Ultimately, Room to Grow elevates basics into statements, reflecting the shifting nature of identity, style, and home.
