My project direction takes Lotus as the starting point, exploring more possibilities of design inspired by nature. During the research process, I studied the connection between Buddhism and lotus and the meaning of life from a macro-cultural perspective. I extracted meaningful silhouettes and changes from the microscopic lotus growth process. The growth process of the lotus is cyclical, so my design follows the concept of the lotus's cyclical rebirth. By extracting natural fibre lotus silk, it can be composted into the soil to form new life after the life of the clothing ends, achieving the sustainability of the entire series. In addition, my silhouette is inspired by the changeable growth process of lotus. Each of my clothes can be worn in two ways and is deformable, providing the possibility of clothing being worn multiple times. My design can help the fashion industry and contribute to sustainable development.
