Growing up in Trearddur Bay, Anglesey, where the RNLI is the heart of our community, I’ve always been inspired by the crew’s courage during extreme weather rescues, and my collection aims to reflect the protection and resilience they provide. Alongside this, my passion for kickboxing has given me a strong sense of female empowerment, which I also want to reflect in my work, drawing on both boxing gear and historical RNLI uniforms to combine structured silhouettes with softer shapes, merging utility with bold femininity. Using the layered structure of historical protective wear as a foundation, I have incorporated up-cycled rib craft tubes, Welsh tartan, and soft knits to create a collection that reflects a connection to my Welsh roots. Additionally, I aim to translate my impaired vision and how I perceive the world without lenses, one of blurred colours and abstract shapes, through an array of textures to create a collection that is as tactile as it is visually striking.
