My graduate collection is a tribute to the life of my Nana and her love of ballet. I wish to pay homage to the rich history of ballet and my nana’s legacy, a world defined by delicate beauty yet underpinned with immense strength and resilience. I am drawing in on the duality of ballet: the physical resilience and discipline required to master ballet in contrast to the allure of outward perfection. I am interested in the juxtaposition between the delicate outward appearances and the hidden strength and resilience that hides beneath. This tension is materialised in my collection through knitwear, traditionally soft and pliable knit pieces have been hardened to represent this duality.
