Alejandro Barroso Codes is a Womenswear and Menswear designer with a strong interest in craftsmanship and Haute Couture. His designs are often influenced by his personal life and Spanish heritage, which appear in his work both visually and conceptually. Alejandro interned at Defaïence during his placement year, an experience that inspired him to pursue custom design and experiment with embellishment. He enjoys working with a variety of techniques and often combines traditional methods with modern innovations such as laser cutting. Deeply rooted in his cultural background, Alejandro often combines inspiration from Spanish art, traditions, and silhouettes with a contemporary British perspective, adding a distinctive emotional and historical depth to his creations. He also values sustainability in his practice and consistently seeks ways to reduce waste—whether through zero-waste pattern cutting or the use of second-hand fabrics.
