Niamh Watts is a Womenswear designer, influenced by her love of birds, collections of abnormal objects and personal experiences viewed through a unique lens. Niamh utilises fabrics that are often avoided by most, using kitschy fabrics with bright colour pops. Niamh combines traditional and digital illustrations into patterns which are in turn put through a sublimation printer to create unique textiles to enhance her garments. Niamh’s final BA collection consisted of six looks, inspired by Niamh’s fascination with urbanised pigeons in Manchester, developing that idea into the pigeons becoming so anthropomorphised that they act like many mancunians, vaping, partying and working. The absurdity of this concept translated into a cutesy, RTW collection which was showcased at Salford Universities BA graduate runway, alongside the graduate Fashion Show in Ningbo, China.
