I was ten years old when I was looking through my dad’s DVD collection when I found the 2004 version of The Phantom of the Opera. The DVD cover consisted of a white mask and red rose, creating a dramatic and mysterious aesthetic, I immediately took the DVD and watched the movie with my parents. I fell in love with the story, especially the specific scene where the character, Christine, wore a beautiful wedding dress while she ran into an underground lake to save her lover. As I grew older, I would occasionally watch the movie to experience the story again, this then led to reading the 2012 translation of the French novel, and then travelling to London to watch the theatre production of the story. The ‘Hidden Truth’ bridal collection contains two mini dresses, three maxi skirts, and a suit inspired button up top, all inspired by Christine’s wedding dress. Wedding dresses are usually only worn once, which is why I created a bridal collection with interchangeable garments that can be worn in different ways, seasons, and occasions after the wedding.
