To me, fashion means creating shapes and stories using the body as an anchor for each piece. Each garment functions like an instrument in an orchestra, contributing to a cohesive and expressive whole. Every piece I create is crafted with intention and purpose. My practice often emerges as a response to traditional menswear. I'm particularly drawn to masculine archetypes, which have led me to construct a muse of my own. I design for those who embody masculine energy but seek to redefine and challenge the conventional boundaries of what it means to wear "men’s" clothing. I have developed a deep fascination with paper bags—their structure, their folds and corners, the crinkles that form through use. These qualities became a foundational inspiration for my graduate collection, Knistern. Through experimenting with textiles I explored the crinkle and developed a method that froze the crinkles and folds of the fabric like that of paper using fusing and the heat press. I explored visual and conceptual parallels between the sharp, crisp shapes of paper bags and the principles of the Bauhaus movement. As I drafted patterns, constructed garments, styled and led the shoots, I continuously referenced the seven rules of Bauhaus —sometimes following them, sometimes challenging them. Accessories and styling became essential extensions of my vision, providing further avenues through which I could express my obsession for Bauhaus and the intricacy's of the paper bag, and add to my world of Bauhaus.
