Dear Florence, Love Nancy is a tender tribute to my Grandma Nancy—told through fabric, silhouette, and emotion. This collection imagines an intimate conversation between two women, Florence and Nancy, connected across time through love, memory, and craft. Softness is the language here. Exaggerated shapes, sculptural florals, and airy layers echo the delicacy of blooming flowers. Inspired by vintage handiwork and feminine rituals, each garment balances lightness with bold, whimsical form. There’s strength in the softness—an intentional celebration of gentleness as something powerful and lasting. The color palette draws from quiet, natural beauty: petal pink, seafoam blue, and sage green. Many fabrics are repurposed from deadstock, including pieces cut from my grandmother’s scarves—woven with care, history, and a sense of home. These textiles carry stories, becoming part of a larger narrative stitched into every piece. The collection is rooted in the landscape and spirit of Fleetwood, Nancy’s coastal hometown. There’s a faded elegance to the seaside—salt-worn textures, muted hues, and the quiet resilience of a place shaped by wind and water. Subtle nods to maritime uniforms and Victorian promenade dress echo throughout, lending the work a nostalgic but grounded presence. Dear Florence, Love Nancy is more than a collection—it’s a love letter made tangible. It’s about how memory lingers in the folds of fabric, how gestures form, and how something as personal as a scarf or as fleeting as a breeze can become lasting. Each piece invites you to slow down, to notice, to feel—like finding something once lost and suddenly remembered.
