I’m a creative practitioner, director, photographer, maker and storyteller. I value curating a narrative that influences new ways of diversifying fashion by curating fantasy, culture, fiction and storytelling within my work. My graduate project, “The Tale of Taliesin”, explores the experience of transgender theory through the traditional Welsh folk tale of Taliesin. This project started with an interest in researching the bard, poet, and storytelling behind my name, Taliesin, which people have been retelling across Wales for the past 700+ years. The project serves as my storytelling through The Tale of Taliesin, mirroring my experiences as a transgender individual from a fictitious perspective. Assessing how I envisioned these “transitions” and “shapeshifting” between the character Gwion Bach, who eventually transforms into Taliesin. The forms of becoming and growing specifically interest me as I reflect on my interpersonal relationship with myself and how I feel I am constantly growing and transforming. Although my final university project is over, moving forward, I will continue this journey with this project and myself, with a continuous list of ideas I want to pursue for this project, including film-making and directing.
