This collection is a personal exploration of identity, belonging, and cultural connection. As someone who wasn't brought up in Romania, I have often felt a distance between myself and my cultural roots. This fashion collection is my way of bridging that gap—of reconnecting with my heritage through the lens of my own experiences and emotions. Rather than relying solely on traditional Romanian garments or motifs, I chose to approach this project in a more introspective and emotional way. The collection is shaped by my visits to Romania—time spent with family, the sense of home, and the deep nostalgia that those moments bring. It reflects how nature and memory have influenced my understanding of what Romanian culture means to me. From the countryside landscapes to the textures and colors of traditional villages, every detail in this collection represents a piece of that experience. The silhouettes blend modern design with subtle references to traditional Romanian attire, reinterpreted in a way that feels authentic to me. I created my own form of Romanian embroidery using thread and beads, as well as pressed flowers to modernize rather than copy traditional floral designs. Textiles and prints draw inspiration from natural elements such as forests, mountains, and the warmth of family gatherings. Each piece is an expression of connection—between past and present, tradition and personal narrative. This collection isn’t about claiming a full understanding of my culture; it’s about the journey of learning and embracing it in a way that feels true to who I am. It honors both where I come from and who I’ve become.
