The Explorers is a collection based off my research into late 19th-century polar expeditioners, as well as British fishing communities from the same era. This is an autumn-winter collection, which tells the story of a group of women who set out on an expedition, and sail across the sea to explore the North Pole. They wear clothes that protect them from the harsh weather conditions using: waxed cotton, thick woolen fur, merino and lambswool. They can carry tools and personal items in the many pockets that cover their clothes. This tale represents the hard-working women that go unrecognized in so many stories that have been told before, without them maybe these events wouldn't have been possible.
