My graduate collection is rooted in the act of urban exploration, focusing on neglected and hidden spaces in the rural region of Poland. These forgotten domestic spaces – abandoned houses, past-used stairwells, wallpapers, dilapidated ornaments and handmade objects – are quietly fading away into preservation, if not loss. This project explores a connection to my own Polish heritage through design. It investigates how the abandonment of daily life, particularly associated with the working-class in post-Communist rural areas of Poland, can be traced to the neglect of identity and ethnic discrimination. As a designer specialising in screen printing, I use this technique to layer textures and create visual noise.
