As the daughter of Polish immigrants, I am drawn to the concept of identity and how it shapes my life. I explore both its light and dark aspects, translating these ideas into unconventional textiles crafted from synthetic hair. My final collection features fabric manipulations such as braiding, slashing, and fraying, creating raw, textured surfaces. These are intentionally contrasted with delicate silk flowers to express the tension between discomfort and acceptance. I aim to prioritise sustainability by using deadstock fabrics, repurposed curtains, and salvaged upholstery scraps, giving new life to discarded materials.
