My collection 'Technological Nomadism' merges historical references with futuristic concepts through a dystopian lens examining our relationship with nature and technology. Inspired by Victorian-era mountaineers' functional yet romantic silhouettes, I researched the Alpine Club in London, studying original equipment and journals from 1850-1890. I explored contemporary technical outerwear, creating a dialogue between past and present. My collection features adaptable garments with functional detailing. I have juxtaposed materials, combining knits with technical fabrics and heat-sealed seams. The colour palette blends faded Victorian tones with high-visibility elements from modern mountain rescue equipment. Through this work, I explore human resilience and adaptation, challenging viewers to consider our complex relationship with technology, nature, and history as we navigate an increasingly unpredictable world.
