Defined by subtle surface detail, earthy palettes, and a commitment to conscious design, my work celebrates garment construction as a form of quiet innovation. My design ethos is rooted in practicality and sustainability, without sacrificing individuality or shape. My collection, Landscape Lines, is a series of experiments. Working with shape, material, and new ways of cutting to create high-quality wearable garments. I enjoy the challenge of creative pattern cutting, setting myself parameters of design, such as zero waste cutting, to create a series of draping explorations. I find a lot of inspiration from the natural environment, looking at colours and textures found on the coast of Cornwall and the green landscapes of Dorset. My research on colour and material, paired with my explorations of draping and pattern cutting, provides an opportunity for new and original designs. When considering my practice of work, I prioritise sustainability, ensuring that I’m using natural and recycled fabrics and looking at the circularity of my work, making sure products have an end-of-life solution. As a process-driven maker, I move fluidly between 2D and 3D, refining and developing shapes and silhouettes to balance technical garment construction with the softness and familiarity of lived-in pieces. I hope to carry on developing my technical skills and design style.
