Patryk Lotocki’s practice is centred around the pursuit of perfect fit through precise pattern cutting, strong structure and thoughtful, high-quality design. Inspired by his Polish heritage, Patryk blends cultural tradition with the discipline of classic tailoring, resulting in garments that are both technically refined and deeply personal. His approach is rooted in craftsmanship and storytelling, using clothing not only as a means of self-expression but as a way to reconnect with identity and history. In his latest project, Patryk explores the evolving nature of Polish cultural identity and the ways in which it has been diluted or lost through modern dress, architecture, and patterns of consumption. Responding to this, he proposes a new, contemporary way of reclaiming and reinterpreting his heritage through clothing. His designs bring together stark contrasts; sharp, boxy silhouettes and architectural elements, such as cold grey tones, structural overlays and clean lines are juxtaposed with warm, nostalgic references drawn from Polish interiors of the 1970s. A key feature of the collection is the use of original 1960s traditional Polish blankets, which not only add texture and warmth but also offer a unique sense of structure to the garments. These textiles speak to memory, home, and resilience. Patryk further incorporates traditional craft by developing his own laser-cut lace, which he uses to embellish pockets and panel details. Experimentation with different techniques was essential for a high standard of pattern cutting to be maintained whilst working with difficult fabrics.
