Hi I am Darci Wilson, I am a graduate fashion design student from UCA Epsom. This is my final year portfolio including my Pre-collection and Final collection, which I think showcase my best work and skills from the past year. I often look to other creative arts for inspiration, particularly sculptures, architecture, and film. As well as looking for ways to connect nature to my concepts and inspirations. Fabric manipulation has been a key part of my designs, including pleats, pintucks, braids and embroidery. This has developed into my brand style, creating unique textures to incorporate into my collections. I also like to experiment with creating bold prints. For example, I created a print from my own charcoal drawings and rubbings for my pre-collection. For these two projects I had to choose 2 brands to study that influence me and design a collection that would fit my chosen brands. For my pre-collection this being Maison Margiela and for my final collection I chose Celine. As part of my course, I have been liaising with factories to produce my final garments, with me creating all the patterns, toiles and tech packs.
