I predominantly work as a photographer and art director, with a particular focus on fashion photography as an artistic practice. Being a member of the Brighton-based creative studio Jazz Club Collective, I engage collaboratively within the film and photography sectors, adopting a "small team, big impact" approach. A core aspect of this is working with local artists, utilising Brighton’s vibrant creative community. Highlighting this talent and contributing to the city’s identity as a cultural and creative capital is central to mine, and Jazz Club Collective’s, practice. My work conceptualises fashion as an intersection of craftsmanship and self-expression. Historically, clothing has served both functional and decorative purposes, and my practice seeks to communicate this duality by positioning fashion as a form of artistic expression and lived experience. In response to the often fast and commercially driven pace of the fashion industry, I aim to introduce a slower, more contemplative mode of production - one that values process, longevity, and environmental sustainability. This deceleration not only is essential to the preservation of the industry but also of the planet. Within my personal practice, I create most styling pieces myself, using material and drapery as tools to explore light, silhouette, and form. While fashion remains the focal point of my work, I approach it not as a vehicle for consumption, but as a means of enquiry. Nature serves as a significant source of inspiration, and my investigation into its forms and rhythms underpins much of my creative work. At the core of my practice is an ongoing exploration of the inseparable relationship between humanity, culture, and the natural world. It is bringing this softness into oftentimes harsh places, that brings me such unbridled joy.
