Hi ! I’m Dikshapriya, a fashion design graduate from the University for The Creative Arts. My final collection, titled Rage Bait, is a modular, adjustable, and convertible collection that confronts two pervasive but underaddressed forms of exclusion in the contemporary clothing design: 1. The emotional and physical discomfort caused by minor weight fluctuations, and 2. The limitations of functionally exclusive garments that dictate a single, fixed way of being worn. In a culture where bodies are expected to remain static and clothing is rarely forgiving, Rage Bait proposes a more inclusive approach, one that acknowledges the natural variability of the body and reclaims fashion as a space for adaptability, creativity, and play. Each piece in the collection is designed to adjust with the wearer, with flexible closures and size- adaptive features that support small shifts in weight without compromising fit or weight. In parallel the collection explores convertibility: coats transform into bags, vests into shoulder bags, etc. Challenging the traditional one function per garment norm. This not only increases the lifespan and versatility of the clothing but also promotes a more personal interaction between the wearer and their wardrobe. Beyond functionality, Rage Bait encourages expressive freedom by enabling multiple styling possibilities. Ultimately Rage Bait is a call to reject restrictive norms, whether in sizing, styling, or self expression. It champions fashion that adapts to the wearer, not the other way around, and imagines a future where inclusivity is embedded not only in who is represented but also in how garments live and move with real bodies.
