My name is Leon, I’m a Malaysian fashion designer based in London, where I completed my BA in Fashion. Moving from Malaysia to the UK was a major shift that shaped both my identity and creative voice. My work explores the contrast between hardness and softness through 3D form, tailoring, and draping. I focus on luxury prêt-à-porter menswear that is genderless, experimental, and emotionally driven. A core theme in my design is resistance—material, physical, and emotional. I use biomaterials like kombucha leather and transparent, fluid textiles to create garments that reflect transformation and vulnerability. My silhouettes often challenge binary codes, embracing softness in masculinity. I hope to continue my journey with an MA in Fashion, deepening my material research and refining my design language. If not, I aim to gain experience in the industry, particularly as an intern at JW Anderson, whose work has greatly influenced mine.
