House of Belonging portrays the idea of a young child envisioning their future self they wish to become, whilst carrying along the ideas and familiarities of the people and things they love as they grow up. It’s about creating a safe space for oneself, surrounding oneself with treasured belongings, and holding onto them through life. I am creating a memory that resonates with others and prompts them to reflect on their core values and how they present themselves to the world. I like to focus primarily on colour and fabrications to help tell the story of my collection. Throughout the creation process, I thought about my own family and upbringing as inspiration.
