I am a fashion design graduate specialising in menswear. A detail-oriented designer with a strong interest in textile development and manipulation. My practice is hands-on and research-led, often beginning with fabric trials such as laser etching to discover unexpected qualities that drive the final design. Attention to construction, finish, and silhouette are key to how I translate concept into form. My graduate collection, titled The Gentle Men, is inspired by the Compton Cowboys, a community in downtown Los Angeles that challenge stereotypes projected onto them by reclaiming equestrian culture. Often misjudged as rappers or associated with gang culture, they embody a softer, more introspective masculinity—one rooted in compassion, resilience, and connection. This sparked my interest in the contradictions of modern masculinity, how traditional expectations are being reshaped, resisted, or unravelled entirely. My collection explores these shifts through distorted silhouettes, garment hybrids, and unexpected fabric pairings. Twists, slouches, and off-balanced forms reflect a change from the rigid structure and muted colours often seen in menswear.
