My collection is a deeply personal reflection of my heritage and the environments that shaped me. Raised in the countryside by a botanist mother and a gardening enthusiast father, I developed a profound connection to the natural world—an influence that blooms throughout my work. The organic textures, earthy tones, and botanical motifs that inform my fabric choices and color palette are a direct homage to the landscapes of my upbringing. In contrast, I drew from the practicality of utilitarian design, incorporating elements such as modular construction and functional pockets. This juxtaposition of nature and utility allowed me to create pieces that are both grounded in sentiment and built for purpose. My mother, originally from Singapore, introduced me to the rich traditions of ceremonial embroidery found in Southeast Asian gowns—an influence that sparked my own exploration of intricate embellishment as a storytelling device within the collection. Above all, I envisioned this body of work as ready-to-wear—clothing designed not for fleeting moments, but for repeated, meaningful use. Influenced by the inclusive and vibrant LGBTQ community I grew up in, I also embraced androgyny, creating silhouettes that transcend gender and speak to a broader sense of identity and self-expression.
