This is a menswear collection that takes 1940s-inspired tailoring with reference to military, naval, and workwear, juxtaposing with the graphic language and vivid colour systems of horseracing attire. With the addition of performative accessories, human blinkers, this collection explores the formation of competitive identities in early working life, ultimately embracing ambiguity and desire as both constructed and playful. More Jockeys is a project that observes a race among male identities without a clear roadmap to a finish line. My project functions as both a self-portrait and an introduction to myself as I leave university and enter working life. The project reflects my personal tastes and developing design identity, while also exploring the anxieties and thoughts that accompany this transition.
