Originating from Sheffield this project in grounded in a lived experience of the North. Using the memories of my youth along with a catalog of family pictures, “No Time to Play” dives into the yearning for nostalgia, playfulness and child like expression in an ever so grey adult reality. Through this theme, this is translated into a six look collection containing both knitted and woven garments which explore both shrunken and oversized silhouettes. Bold colours and textures lay next to neutrals whilst replicating and re-inventing textures and prints taken from my body of research. Together, these visuals demonstrate how knitwear becomes both a metaphor and medium: a form that carries emotion through texture, comfort through structure, and rebellion through colour and print. Overall, my collection was curated for a woman who wants to invites a playful nostalgia back into her life whilst being able to still fit into the everyday.
