My name is Yanhan Zhou, a menswear designer from Suzhou, China. My design philosophy is defined by three key words: dark, functional, and edgy. For me, design is an extension of my identity. I focus on functionality, proportion, and drape, with particular attention to the relationship between the waistline and leg proportions. By incorporating adjustable drawcord systems and elasticated constructions, my garments adapt to different body types and styling preferences, improving comfort and versatility. Inspired by my cultural background and the functional construction of traditional Chinese ethnic garments, I explore the balance between tension and release, restraint and expression through garment construction and silhouette. Combining traditional waxed cotton with technical and waterproof fabrics, I reinterpret heritage through a contemporary lens to create structured, functional menswear that remains practical for everyday wear.
