My graduate collection challenges the conventions of heritage tailoring through a feminist lens, questioning how tailoring might have evolved if rooted in womenswear, rather than menswear. Initiated by the inheritance of my grandmother's thimble, the work explores themes of memory, tactility and inheritance of craft to inform contemporary fashion. By integrating traditional tailoring techniques with unexpected materials such as silk, abaca and felted knitwear, the collection disrupts established ideas of structure and silhouette. This collection proposes a refined and modern vision of tailoring, shaped through female stories and histories.
