With a fondness for romantic silhouettes, intricate details, and poetic design, I draw inspiration from culture, modern history, art, and literature, painting the world in colours it has never seen. Every collection tells a story, every garment is a dream, and every decision relies on instinct. Living between London and Bucharest has shaped my vision and design approach into an eclectic mix of contemporary styles and cultural aesthetics. I have been incorporating elements of Romanian folklore, tradition and heritage into cutting-edge techniques. Prime examples include the pioneering “trompe l’oeil” method of laser-cutting suede to resemble traditional lace or designing and custom-printing a pattern of roses, symbols of Eastern culture, onto modern tech fabrics, such as nylon and mesh. I have taken garment technology even further by developing a structural, transparent, and seemingly floating corset that embodies the concept of flight, leather embellishments that recreate the cosmos, and exaggerated hip structures designed to trick the senses into a surreal, dream-like state. At the foundation of these creations are innovative patternmaking, advanced garment engineering (such as using strategically placed boning, crinnet, and double-layered tulle to construct self-standing shapes), and complex draping. Furthermore, these designs feature hand-crocheted lace as an homage to Romanian artisanship.
