Hannah Haywood is a contemporary designer whose designs and construction is centred on sustainability, material reuse, and the enduring influence of 1990s grunge culture. Her graduate collection explores the relationship between circular design, subcultural identity, and denim as both a material and cultural narrative. Using discarded denim sourced from charity shops, Hannah transforms unwanted garments into contemporary silhouettes that celebrate the authenticity of grunge while reflecting its evolution within today's fashion landscape. A distressed, lived-in aesthetic preserves the history of each piece, giving new value to overlooked materials. Designed with longevity in mind, the collection features modular elements, including unzip-able and interchangeable components, allowing garments to be adapted to different styles, environments, and individual expression. Patchwork construction and hand-dyeing techniques reinforce the collection's commitment to repair and reinvention, encouraging wearers to alter and extend the life of each garment over time. Through this collection, Hannah advocates for a more conscious approach to fashion, demonstrating how circular design and craftsmanship can redefine discarded textiles into versatile, enduring pieces.
