My collection reflects on navigating cultural identity through a diasporic lens, examining distance and ambiguity. It explores the interaction of presence and absence, where remnants of a removed form become the form itself. The concept draws from the Greek mythological story of Tantalus, paralleling his physical liminality with visual portrayals of rural agricultural practice to represent a cycle of labour and desire through the act of cultivation.
