In the summer of 2025, my family reunited in Japan, inspired by my mother’s research on Tsushima. Travelling from Kyoto through Takiba, Tottori, and Fukuoka to Tsushima, we visited shrines, gardens, museums, and galleries. The journey unfolded in a quiet rhythm between movement and stillness, gradually shaping a shared sense of time and place. Within these spaces, I became attentive to forms shaped by time and the subtle traces of civilisation embedded in the landscape. This experience informed my design language, leading me to approach garments as landscapes that hold memory through material, structure, and layering.
