Specialisms : Sustainable Design, Denim,Pattern cutting I am a Fashion Design and Marketing graduate from Northumbria University, where I have specialised in sustainable design throughout the final three years of my degree. Alongside my studies, I completed a work placement developing products and brand concepts using surplus materials supplied by a global automotive manufacturer. My graduate collection explores how reclaimed denim can be transformed into contemporary, premium womenswear without compromising on craftsmanship or aesthetic appeal. This formed my brand concept, Renîmes. Rather than following the patchwork style often associated with upcycled fashion, I developed techniques that use reclaimed denim to create dramatic silhouettes, carefully considering fabric colour, stretch and seam placement to embrace the characteristics of the original material. The Trompe L'œil collection explores themes of illusion and perception, taking inspiration from traditional corsetry to manipulate proportion and create dramatic silhouettes. Throughout my Final Major Project, I not only explored the design and construction of garments, but also how they are communicated, marketed and perceived within a saturated fashion industry. This led to my promotional concept, Behind the Seams, a campaign that complements Renîmes by offering an honest and understated insight into the design and production process. Rather than using sustainability as a marketing tool, the campaign showcases the garments while transparently communicating the environmental benefits of working with reclaimed materials. The project is supported by a complete brand and marketing strategy, including promotional products, a launch campaign, social media content and a promotional film.
