AWARDS EXHIBITOR: Zaha Hadid Foundation Fashion x Architecture Gallery 2026 Deborah Fruchter is an emerging fashion designer specialising in womenswear with a focus on colour, print, and expressive yet wearable design. With experience across design development, pattern cutting, garment construction, and sampling, she enjoys combining creativity with practicality to create thoughtful, eye catching well-resolved garments. Her work reflects a strong interest in technical precision alongside bold visual storytelling. “More or Less” explores the question of whether less is truly more, examining the tension between minimalism and maximalism in approaches to fashion design and consumption. Led by research of minimalism and maximalism in a historical context, exploring their presence in fashion, art, and culture, focusing on two key time periods, the 1950s Minimalist art movement and 1980s maximalism, with particular attention to the Italian Paninaro subculture aesthetic. Exploring the space between the overwhelm of maximalism and the predictability of minimalism, to create modern, wearable, and innovative collection that reimagines conventional wardrobe staples such as the bomber jacket or shirt, combining expression with convenience through unexpected multifunctional design, bright colours and bespoke print.
