Her work explores the concept of “protection,” translating the childhood gesture of being held into silhouettes that suggest safety and support. Her practice is defined by a hybrid workflow between CLO 3D and physical development. By testing volumes, textures, and colour palettes digitally first, she ensures technical precision while significantly reducing material waste, a more sustainable approach to sampling. Once the digital form is refined, she translates the data into physical patterns to test real-world movement, before returning to the software for further adjustments. This tech-driven process allows Nguyen to create complex, considered pieces, such as her signature sculptural hand details. Her goal is to build a modern design practice where digital efficiency and meaningful storytelling come together to create lasting garments.
