Two worlds continually on a collision course but never meeting each other head on; the dissonance of the people we are when we wake up and the people we are when we present ourselves to the world presents a question - which version is more authentically you? Sifana Shahzad’s collection engages this curiosity by gently guiding those opposing worlds towards each other. Combining both tailoring and pyjamas, Sleepwalking bridges the gap between these polar opposite poles within dress. Bleary eyed and tired, you force yourself out of bed to pose as a serious member of the world beyond your bedroom door. There is a comfort of bed that persists alongside those silhouettes that connote a sharpness in presence through tailoring. It makes sense and it doesn’t. Considered and undone, caring and careless - we are everything at once.
