Qiai Wang is a fashion designer and recent graduate from The Glasgow School of Art. Her practice explores garments not as static objects, but as moments of movement between body, cloth, and time. She is interested in the subtle states before and after dressing, when clothing is folded, suspended, adjusted, or held in tension. Rather than treating garments as fixed forms, she approaches them as actions that evolve through movement and interaction. Through draping, folding, minimal cutting, and the use of existing textiles and deadstock materials, she creates adaptable womenswear that extends the life of materials through thoughtful construction. Her approach to sustainability is rooted not only in material choice, but in designing garments that can continue through transformation, repair, and reinterpretation, encouraging a more considered relationship between clothing and everyday life.
