Sumi Kim is a London-based womenswear designer whose work combines precise tailoring with fluid drape to create refined, contemporary silhouettes. Born in Stockport and of Korean heritage, her practice explores the balance between structure and softness through meticulous construction, innovative cutting techniques, and a modern approach to femininity. Her graduate collection is inspired by the atmospheric play of natural light and the moment light breaks through a window and enters an interior space. Through sculptural seam lines, fluid drape, and subtle print it explores movement, clarity, and quiet elegance. Having gained industry experience at JW Anderson, Kiko Kostadinov, S.S. Daley, and Charles Jeffrey Loverboy, Sumi has developed a strong foundation in craftsmanship, creative pattern cutting, and contemporary womenswear design.
