“Remaining begins with what is already there.” Kun Luo is a London-based menswear designer and a BA (Hons) Fashion Design graduate from the University of Westminster. His practice explores memory, attachment and the emotional relationship between clothing and everyday life, examining how garments evolve through wear rather than replacement. His graduate collection, ‘Remaining’, draws inspiration from worn second-hand clothing and observations of teenage street culture. Through reconstructed denim, burnt knitwear, hand-dyed fabrics that mimic sun-faded surfaces, needle-punched wool and tailoring crafted from weathered boat sail, the collection embraces the visible traces of time and use. Rather than resisting ageing, Kun treats time as a collaborator, allowing garments to develop character through habit, continuity and lived experience. By combining material experimentation with refined craftsmanship, Kun creates contemporary menswear that celebrates imperfection, authenticity and the enduring emotional value of clothing.
