Xinyan Chen makes clothes about the distance between where you come from and where you end up. Her graduate collection Metropolitan Villagers traces three generations of Chinese family history — land, labour, silence, and survival — through garments that hold structural rigour and emotional fragility in equal tension. A 2024 UKFT MADE IT Award winner graduating from the University of Westminster, she has sharpened her practice across studios including Kiko Kostadinov and Standing Ground, and Huishan Zhang in London. She is looking for her next chapter to open her career here.
