Saskia’s practice reflects her playful nature and her upbringing in London and Cambridge with a good helping of humour and references to Britishness. This final collection started by referencing a golf bag seen as a child- one stored in the cupboard, with rare outings. Her father would use it for corporate events, where business decisions were made on the course. Saskia found it rather humorous that her dad was rubbish at golf, and it was just a vehicle for starting conversations. So, she started her own conversation, about historical and fun golf wear; mixing tartans to make a new argyle textile, and plus fours shaped like the bag, with practical pockets for balls, tees and snacks. In previous collections Saskia has referenced childhood play and dressing up, riffs on British social occasions like Henley Regatta, and plans to continue her practice bringing joy and fun through design. With exemplary finish.
