I am a 20 year old designer that specialises in womenswear with strong research, design, pattern cutting and construction skills. I am passionate about creating clothing that helps people feel their best selves. This collection is the beginning of that ethos. Pattern cutting and construction have become a source of inspiration on my journey to becoming a designer- the level of detail and intricacy involved are so important and I want to celebrate that in my work. With that in mind I chose to design, pattern cut and make 4 looks from this collection. Each finish and detail is thought out and everything is created with intention and purpose. Another feature that was important to me for this collection was versatility. While each look is purposeful, the garments within them are quite interchangeable to appeal to the modern customer and how their wardrobe typically adapts with each season. Nothing Here Is Broken: Under Reconstruction is a womenswear collection that explores identity, perception and resilience through form, structure and tailoring. My final graduate collection is a love letter to me and a reminder of who I am, who I was and who I am becoming. I hope this resonates with others- we should be proud of who we are and should share it, scars and all.
