One of the key inspirations for Gone Afield stems from the desire to be in tune with the feminine energies within myself and my peers. The struggle that comes with having to keep guards up however disrupts the connection.The muses therefore come from lived experience; female friends choosing to empower one another and making spaces where it is comfortable, authentic without having to worry about the dangers that are aligned with simply existing as a young woman in this age. The women in this narrative have left a gruesome situation to live in a land they have always wished without the strings of patriarchy left behind only in smears of mud left behind by their hasty getaway.
