This project is my move towards more sustainable fashion, which I believe is essential for the future of the industry. I do not want to use any new materials as there is already more than enough fabric in the world and textile waste remains a major issue within fashion. I believe designers have a responsibility to contribute to change by using creativity to solve these problems. This collection challenges the idea that garments made from pre-loved textiles should feel cheap or secondary. Instead, I want to demonstrate that existing materials can be transformed into beautiful, considered garments. The project focuses on creative surface design, which I have specialised in throughout my studies, and embraces a slow, thoughtful approach that stands in direct opposition to fast fashion. Each piece is designed to feel meaningful, timeless, and easy to integrate into a consumer’s wardrobe, with the intention that it will be worn and valued for a long time. These garments are not made for mass manufacturing, but to encourage connection, emotional attachment, and appreciation for clothing.
