In design, principles act as a marker of success – a baseline, a rule, a guideline. This collection asks how a set of principles are utilised, stripping back the layers of fabric and the pre-conceived perceptions of garment form. Through the exploration of existing style, design rules and movements, the Principles Collection embodies a concept of re-visualised composition and refined elemental selection. With the collection’s own unique principles and contrary insight to anti-principles, it seeks to visually stimulate the viewer and question, what are your design principles? Each look is formed from a concept of shape, considering its interaction with the wearer using reinforced fabrics to create dense sculptural figures. With a refined palette, the collection shares unity in its visual identity and furthermore it’s impact as a product of refined design.
