Blowout is a zero-waste capsule collection that explores the high intensity world of motorsport drifting. The project translates the controlled chaos of the sport through mark making, repair, and patchwork—reflecting the improvised modifications used to keep cars in motion. Each garment is developed from squares, rectangles, and triangles, eliminating material waste while challenging conventional approaches to pattern cutting. The collection examines the relationship between body, space, and geometric form, allowing the body to exist within the garment rather than be defined by it. Fluid, adaptable silhouettes emerge through movement, folding, and draping. Surface techniques include tyre tread embroidery, distressed knitwear, and the use of deadstock materials such as reclaimed car seat fabric. The project proposes a design approach grounded in material integrity, transformation, and sustainability.
